About
Zhuqiu (James) Jin is a Professor of Pharmacology and Vice Chair in the Department of Pharmaceutical & Biomedical Sciences at California Northstate University College of Pharmacy (CNUCOP). He obtained his M.S. degree in Pharmacology from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University and his Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology from Central South University. After receiving his doctoral degree, Dr. Jin worked as a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, San Francisco exploring effects of sphingolipids in cardiac protection. Dr. Jin taught Pharmacology for Pharm.D. students and Ph.D. students and carried out cardiovascular research as an Assistant Professor and a Ph.D. advisor at South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy.
At CNUCOP, Dr. Jin has taught Pathophysiology and Pharmacology II (Cardiovascular and Renal System) for Pharm.D. students since 2015 and Pharmacogenomics/Personalized Medicine since 2016.
Dr. Jin’s research focuses on dedifferentiation of cardiac myofibroblasts in cardiac fibrosis and role of cardiac microvascular endothelial cells in protection of the heart.
Research Interest
- Sphingolipids and S1P receptors
- Cardiac fibrosis and anti-fibrosis: differentiation and de-differentiation
