About

Dr. Thomas received her Doctor of Pharmacy from St. John’s University in New York. Thereafter, she pursued a pharmacy practice residency at the VA New York Harbor Hospital. Upon graduating from her residency, she obtained a clinical pharmacist position at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut, where she gained various experiences in cardiology, general medicine, surgery, and infectious diseases. After several years on the east coast, Dr. Thomas decided to make the cross country move to Los Angeles, where she initially practiced as a clinical pharmacist specialist at St. Francis Medical Center. At St. Francis, she mainly specialized in critical care and was an active member of the antibiotic stewardship program. Dr. Thomas’ passion for teaching eventually led her to accept the assistant professor position at California Northstate University. She currently resides in a suburb of Los Angeles with her husband and two children.

Research Interest

Dr. Thomas is interested in research related to critical care, general medicine, and infectious diseases.

Scholarship

Dr. Thomas enjoys being a faculty preceptor, professor, and mentor to the future generation of pharmacy. She believes every student should have a knowledgeable and positive mentor(s) throughout their pharmacy career.

Awards and Accomplishments:

Dr. Thomas obtained an antibiotic stewardship certificate from the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP) in 2014. She is also a member of ASHP and CSHP.
