About

Experienced scientist with a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Mercer University, Atlanta, Georgia, USA, a Degree of Pharmacist from Hanoi University of Pharmacy, Hanoi, Vietnam, a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) from Toastmasters International, USA, and 10+ years of experience developing various products (Topical semisolid, transdermal patch, and injectable products). I currently serve as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical & Biomedical Sciences, College of Pharmacy, California Northstate University, Elk Grove, California, USA. My research expertise covers the design, formulation, fabrication, characterization, and applications of conventional and innovative drug delivery systems and technologies in pharmaceutical sciences for various therapeutic agents (i.e., small molecules, macromolecules, and particulate drug delivery systems).

Authored one single-authored book (“Microneedles: The Future of Drug Delivery,” published by Taylor & Francis Group), four book chapters, and 23 peer-reviewed journal articles in prestige journals (i.e., Journal of Controlled Release, European Journal of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Research, etc.). I also deliver podium and poster presentations at multiple international, national, and regional conferences, with over 34 scientific abstracts to my credit. I was honored with Phi Kappa Phi, Rho Chi, and Sigma Xi awards during my graduate term at Mercer University. I have been serving as the Co-Director of the Vietnamese Association of Pharmacists & Pharmaceutical Scientists, USA, since 2014. I am also a US-certified pharmacist with FPGEC and have graduated two Ph.D. students in the USA under my guidance. I serve on the Editorial Board of a pharmacy journal and as a referee for over seven drug delivery journals. I won the Hewitt T. Matthews Award (2018), the Monroe F. Swilley, Jr. Award (2018), and other awards.
