Dr. Hubbard is originally from the Navajo Indian Reservation; born in Ganado, AZ and raised in Window Rock, AZ.  Dr. Hubbard is an enrolled member of the Navajo (Dine) Nation with Tohono O’odham ancestry (paternal grandmother).  In the Navajo Way, Dr. Hubbard is ‘Ashiihi (Salt-People Clan) and born for Tabaaha (Edgewater-People Clan).

Dr. Hubbard joined California Northstate University College of Pharmacy in January, 2011.  Dr. Hubbard has extensive career experiences in federal pharmacy as a Commissioned Officer in the US Public Health Service (USPHS)/Indian Health Service (IHS).  Dr. Hubbard’s USPHS/IHS pharmacy experience is primarily in the Four Corners region of the United States and ranges from northern Minnesota to southern Arizona.  Dr. Hubbard has held pharmacy leadership appointments in rural and urban, federal and tribally-operated health centers and medical centers.  After completing his Post-BS PharmD, Dr. Hubbard also held a previous academic appointment at the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy (his BS Pharmacy alma mater) from 1993 through 2000.  Dr. Hubbard has leadership experiences in correctional and private-for-profit medical center pharmacy services.

Dr. Hubbard’s current practice and research interests are Medication Therapy Management (MTM) for Medicare Part D beneficiaries (e.g. Part D Core Chronic Conditions-Alzheimer’s Disease, Chronic Heart Failure [CHF], Diabetes, Dyslipidemia, End-Stage Renal Disease [ESRD], Hypertension, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease [COPD], Arthritis [such as Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis, or Rheumatoid Arthritis] and Mental Health [such as Depression]).  Dr. Hubbard has previous practice and research expertise in Asthma-Specific Health-Related Quality of Life, Influences of Cultural Diversity on Pharmaceutical Care, and Native American Aging/Geriatric Drug Therapy.
